How to Join
Our craft training programs have grown with our Uniom by combining journey Level upgrade classes with the traditional apprentice programs. Taking advantage of training programs throughout their careers, carpenters keep their skills sharp and become more valuable to employers. Upgrade classes are free to members and conveniently scheduled at local training centers and during off-work hours. Journey Level members are encouraged to continue learning and advancing their skills by taking upgrade courses offered by the Uniom free of charge. Upgrade classes are conveniently designed to meet the scheduling needs of working carpenters.

To apply as an Apprentice or Journey Level of the Carpenters Union, please follow one of the steps below:
1. Apprenticeship Training Program --
for applicants that have some or no experience in commercial carpentry.
To apply for the Apprenticeship program you must begin by attending an Informational Session located at one of the following offices:

Apprentice Application
These Sessions are scheduled the first Monday of each month at 6:00pm. Holidays may cause a schedule change. We suggest you contact the Training Center to confirm the session at (315) 468-7901 Ext 6
Once you attend the above session, you will be directed to apply online. Once we receive your application, you will be contacted by Training Center and scheduled for an interview.
2. Journey Level Member --
for applicants that have experience in commercial carpentry, please follow the link below and complete our on-line application.
